Financial Aid

What students actually pay is greatly determined by financial aid.

For the 2020-21 academic year, Middlesex College awarded more than $27 million in aid to more than 5,000 students. Financial aid awards ranged upwards of $12,000.

Additionally, a Community College Opportunity Grant may make tuition free for students from families who make $80,000 or less.

Make a Payment

You can make a tuition payment online by logging into your Self Service account.

1. After logging in, select the “Student Finance”.
2. Select “Make a Payment” located on right side of the screen.

This will take you to the Student Finance view where you may make a payment by selecting and unselecting the term you would like to pay for.

Payment Plans

Middlesex College is partnering with Nelnet Campus Commerce to offer students a payment plan option to make college more affordable.

Steps to Enroll in the Payment Plan

1. Log into Self Service.
2. Select “Student Finance”.
3. Locate “Student Finance” from the top bar menu and select it for the drop down selections.
4. Select “New Payment Plans and Billing”.
5. Select “Proceed to Processor”.
6. The first time you create a payment plan through Nelnet you will be asked to verify your demographic info. and create a 4-digit pin. The 4-digit pin will be used as an identifier when you call Nelnet for any payment plan inquiries.
7. Verify the balance amount.
8. Select “Set up a payment plan”.
9. Follow the steps to enroll into a payment plan.

Important Notes to Keep in Mind

• Enrolling in a payment plan requires a down payment. You must make a down payment to be able to enroll in the payment plan. The down payment must be made by the payment deadline to avoid losing classes for not making any payment arrangement.
• The payment method used to make the down payment is saved and will be used to pay for future installments.
• A proxy user can enroll in a payment plan for the student’s current balance. To do so, the proxy user must be given access to “Payment plan and Billing” and here is the navigation to grant an access to a proxy user.

1. Log into Self Service.
2. From the left side select “User Options”.
3. Select “View/Add Proxy Access”.
4. Select “Add another user” and fill in the user info.
5. Scroll down and look for the “Student Finance” section.
6. Then, select “Payment Plan and Billing”.
7. Read the Disclosure Agreement and acknowledge the agreement.
8. Select “Submit”.

1098-T Tax Credits

The Tax Reform Act of 1997 provides our students with Hope Scholarship and Lifetime Learning tax credit opportunities. In participation with this program, each January the College sends the 1098-T Tuition Statement to the eligible students and to the IRS.
