Thanks to the New Jersey Community College Opportunity Grant (CCOG), a college degree doesn’t have to come with a lifetime of debt.
Based on eligibility, CCOG covers the full or partial cost of tuition (at the in-county rate) and approved educational fees that are not already covered by federal and state financial aid or scholarships for New Jersey residents.
FREE TUITION if you:
- You make less than $65,000.
- Dependent students: those who must report their parental information on the FAFSA; parental Adjusted Gross Income must be less than $65,000.
- Independent students: student and spouse, if married; Adjusted Gross Income must be less than $65,000.
- Have no prior college degree.
- Are enrolled for Fall or Spring semester for a minimum of 6 credits and up to 18 credits per semester.
- Are making Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) as determined by the Financial Aid Department.
REDUCED TUITION (up to 50% of the maximum CCOG award available) if you:
- Make between $65,001 and $80,000.
- Dependent students: those who must report their parental information on the FAFSA; parental Adjusted Gross Income must be between $65,001 and $80,000.
- Independent students: student and spouse, if married; Adjusted Gross Income must be between $65,001 and $80,000.
- Have no prior college degree.
- Are enrolled for Fall or Spring semester for a minimum of 6 credits and up to 18 credits per semester.
How to Apply
- Complete a FAFSA application. On your FAFSA confirmation page, select the link “Start your state application to apply for New Jersey state-based financial aid.”
OR
- If you do not meet the citizenship requirements to file a FAFSA, you may be able to apply by filling out the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application.
