Application Checklist, Timeline and Criteria

The Radiography program has a limited number of seats.

Application MUST be completed and submitted by December 15, 2022:

SELECTIVE HEALTH PROGRAM INFORMATION SESSION

It is highly recommended that you attend a Selective Health Program Information Session prior to applying.  Seats are limited!  Sessions are listed on the Health Programs homepage.

APPLICATION PORTAL

Complete an online application between August 15, 2022 – December 15, 2022. 

Application Fee is $25.   If you are a current Middlesex College student, please do not use your Middlesex email address when applying.

Once you complete your Radiography application, your application portal will be activated.  Your application portal will provide you with a list of required documents needed to complete your application process.

If you need to reset your password or reset your account, please email us at Healthtech@middlesexcc.edu.  Please do not create another account.   

Your application portal will be reviewed for receipt of submitted documents.  Updates will be posted to your portal using the timeline below:

• Within 2 weeks of receiving your application 
• Within 2 weeks of receiving your official transcripts
• Within 2 weeks of receiving your official TEAS VII exam from ATI

Please note:  Portal updates indicate document receipt only. Additional documents may be requested during portal updates. Please review your portal on a regular basis. 

Required Document Checklist

ALL documents below MUST be received by January 20, 2023:

OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS: Official transcripts must be sent to Enrollment Services.

• High School/GED (Current high school seniors can submit midyear transcripts)
  • Foreign transcripts must be translated by a certified translation service. (Example – American Translators Association: www.atanet.org)

• All Colleges and Universities Attended
  • All applicants currently enrolled in college courses will be required to submit final official transcripts with final grades by the January 20th document deadline.  
  • Official transcripts from all institutions attended are required.  
  • All applicants who attended college outside the U.S. must have their transcripts evaluated by an accredited third-party evaluator such as AACRAO or WES on a course-by-course basis.  

College Testing Exemptions

ALL College testing exemptions MUST be received by January 20, 2023:

COLLEGE TESTING EXEMPTIONS:  Applicants must have completed all developmental coursework or be exempted from the exams listed below.  Questions? Email us at Healthtech@middlesexcc.edu.

• English as a Second Language (ESL) Exam 

If English is not your best language and if you have not completed four years of high school English courses in the United States you will need to be proficient on the ESL exam before taking the College Placement Exam.

• College Placement Exam (Accuplacer)  

All students must take the College Placement Exam unless they have received an exemption(s). (Please email us via Healthtech@middlesexcc.edu to ensure the exemption has been received.) 

Pre-requisite Science Courses and Cumulative GPA Requirements Must be completed by January 20, 2023:

LABORATORY BIOLOGY AND LABORATORY CHEMISTRY: A grade of “C” or higher is required in both laboratory biology and laboratory chemistry taken during High School or College. College level science courses will be weighted slightly higher than science courses taken at the high school level. Questions? Email us at HealthTech@middlesexcc.edu.

CUMULATIVE GRADE POINT AVERAGE: GPA of 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale is required

• If you have completed 12 or more cumulative college credits (pass or fail) your college GPA will be used. 

➢ College GPA calculation:    

If you have at least 12 completed college credits (pass or fail) within September 1, 2020 – January 20, 2023 a recalculated cumulative GPA will be used for the GPA calculation. 

If you do not have at least 12 completed college credits (pass or fail) within September 1, 2020 – January 20, 2023 a cumulative GPA will be used in the GPA calculation from all colleges attended.

• If you have completed less than 12 cumulative college credits (pass or fail) your high school GPA (unweighted) will be used.

• If you do not have a high school cumulative GPA or 12 completed college credits, you must earn a college cumulative GPA with at least 12 completed college credits by the deadline to be considered.

Selective Testing Requirement

Official TEAS VII results MUST be received by February 3, 2023:

TEAS  VII EXAM: The TEAS VII exam can be taken at any location and must be taken once between September 1, 2022 and February 2, 2023. If the exam is taken multiple times during September 1, 2022 and February 2, 2023, only the score of the first exam completed will be used. 

• Middlesex College will offer the TEAS VII exam.  Dates and available seats are offered on a limited basis beginning in October through January.  Each reserved seat will be charged a testing fee.  Please do not register for multiple dates.  If a change is needed to your reserved date, please reach out to us at Healtech@middlesexcc.edu at least 2 business days prior to your exam date.  Applicants that may require testing accommodations, please email us at Healthtech@middlesexcc.edu for next steps prior to registering for the TEAS VII exam. • TEAS VII exam taken at other locations:  Students must request official scores to be sent directly from ATI to Middlesex College’s testing center:  February 3, 2023 deadline.

Please Note:  Only students who meet the program criteria should take the TEAS VII exam.   ATI offers resources to assist you to prepare for the TEAS VII exam, please visit www.atitesting.com for additional information.

Additional Information

Required Vaccinations:

Any applicant wishing to be considered for one of Middlesex College’s selective health programs will be required to have received all of the following required vaccinations: 

• TDAP
• Meningitis (required under age 19; at least one dose since age 16)
• TB blood test
• Annual Flu vaccine
• Immunity for Measles (Rubeola), Mumps, Rubella, Varicella
• Hepatitis B series of 3 immunizations
• Full vaccination against COVID-19 plus one booster

There will be no medical nor religious exemptions for any of the above listed vaccination requirements.  All accepted students will be required to submit their up-to-date vaccination records by August 1st prior to the Fall in which they will begin the program.  Failure to provide proof of vaccination will result in forfeiture of the seat in the program and non-refundable program deposit.  

Required items needed for acceptance after conditional admittance has been offered: 

• All students will be required to submit a $607 non-refundable deposit by Thursday, April 27, 2023.  (Fee subject to change annually). 
• All students will be required to attend mandatory orientations.  Students who do not attend the required orientation will be in jeopardy of losing their seat in the program. 

Tentative Dates:  Orientation Date – May 25, 2023. o Satisfactory criminal background check and drug testing. 

• Proof of health insurance

The Radiography Program starts Summer Session II (July 2023 start).  Students are required to take RAD 100-Introduction to Radiography. BIO 111- Anatomy and Physiology I and CSC 107- Computers in Healthcare (if not already completed) are recommended in the course sequence at this time.
