Middlesex College carefully evaluates its compensation strategy to ensure salary ranges are internally equitable, are competitive within regional employment markets, and adhere to collective bargaining agreements as applicable.
Includes state retirement plans and optional 403(b) and 457(b) plans. Eligible employees at Middlesex College will be enrolled in a pension administered by the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits. Depending on membership guidelines, employees will participate in defined benefit plans such as NJ Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) or Police & Firemen’s Retirement System (PFRS), or will participate in defined contribution plans such as the Alternative Benefit Program (ABP). Eligible employees also have the option of participating in supplemental plans such as 403(b) plans (tax-sheltered annuity (TSA) plans) and/or 457(b) plans (tax advantaged, deferred-compensation plans).
In the event you become unable to perform your work due to a disability, you may be eligible to obtain short and long-term disability insurance.
Middlesex College provides a benefit in the amount of $3,000 for each full-time employee who is on the active payroll or on an approved leave of absence at the time of his or her death in addition to the employee’s pension-plan based benefit detailed in the NJ Division of Pensions and Benefits’ PERS, PFRS, and ABP guidebooks.

Access is available to a tuition waiver, which includes free tuition and, in some cases, waived fees. Spouses and dependents may also qualify for free tuition.
Tuition reimbursement is available for eligible full-time employees who take classes outside of Middlesex College.
Full-time management personnel are entitled to reimbursement for dues to associations related to their professional duties up to an annual cap.

Full-time employees and their eligible dependents qualify for a variety of medical plan options offered through the Middlesex County Joint Health Insurance Fund, with stipends for waiving coverage. Prescription coverage is available for full-time employees and eligible dependents, and eyeglass reimbursement is available for employees only.
Full-time employees and their eligible dependents qualify for a variety of dental plans offered through Cigna Dental. The on-campus Dental Clinic provides a variety of services at an affordable cost for staff and family members. These include x-rays, polishings, scalings, and nutritional counseling. Faculty and staff can be seen for $5.
These periodic events offer education about health and well-being through a variety of exhibits, workshops, demonstrations, and screenings.
