Keith Menscher, a Middlesex College graduate from the class of 2016 and an attorney with McManimon, Scotland & Baumann, has been named the College’s 2022 Alumnus of the Year.
He was presented with the award at Commencement May 19.
A veteran of the U.S. Army Reserve, Menscher holds an Associate Degree in Business Administration. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree from Rutgers University in Management and Labor Relations and graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 2021, with a concentration in Law and Technology, Privacy and Security Law. He was the recipient of the Adeline Lillian Carmella Memorial Award at Seton Hall.
“Age does not matter, origins do not matter,” Menscher told the graduates. “Each of you are capable of anything you set your minds to, and with dedication, determination and discipline, there is no task, no goal, no milestone that each of you cannot reach. By being here today, you have already proven to yourself, whether you realize it or not, that you are capable of success.”
Mary Tutalo, assistant director of student life, nominated Menscher for the award.
“Keith Menscher is the biggest advocate for Middlesex College,” she said. “He continuously credits the College for putting him on the path to his success, and in return he has been supportive of many events on campus. I couldn’t think of a better person to represent the college for Alumnus of the Year.”
Menscher is a volunteer with Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, which promotes supportive work environments for service members in the Reserve. “I have never been shy nor reserved in crediting Middlesex College for where I am today,” he said. “It was at Middlesex College that I not only learned how to be a successful student, but also the discipline necessary to achieve grades required for law school. I learned many valuable lessons from professors such as Santi Buscemi to administrators such as Charlotte Quigley, and Veterans Services Center staff members David Brimmer and Paul Lazaro. I have carried the lessons and values learned while at Middlesex with me and continue to do so today. I am fortunate enough to be in a place in my life to be able to mentor and guide others who came from similar backgrounds as myself or those that are just curious about their options. My guidance never waivers, Middlesex is the perfect institution to begin your higher education. I will continue being an advocate for people to attend Middlesex not only to obtain a degree from a well-respected institution, but also to obtain the tools necessary to be successful in all future endeavors, whether that be in higher education or in a specific trade.”
